Exeter College is a large Further Education College comprised of a thriving sixth form provision circa 7000 full-time 16-18 learners, a rapidly growing Apprenticeship provision and an exciting adult and Higher Education offer. Annually, the college is supporting increasing numbers of learners with an application to Higher Education, including a significant volume of learners seeking places at some of the UK's most competitive universities. To support us with this vision, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Careers Education Lead who shares our commitment to the importance of careers advice and guidance.

Role overview:

The Careers Education Lead at Exeter College will be a dynamic advocate for careers guidance, responsible for creating and implementing an annual programme of events and activities tailored to meet the needs of our students. You will lead and support a team of careers advisors and be someone who enjoys fostering collaboration with staff, students and external stakeholders. You will have a creative approach to work and apply this to creating a range of careers education events and activities to provide our learners with a meaningful careers education and advice programme. Additionally, you will oversee the college's support for students' applications to Higher Education through the annual UCAS process. Whilst we are eager to hear from candidates qualified as a Level 6 Careers Education Lead, we will proactively support the right candidate to complete this qualification as part of their role with us.

Key responsibilities:

· Champion and lead careers advice and guidance at Exeter College.

· Develop and execute an inclusive annual careers programme.

· Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality assurance processes.

· Utilise the Gatsby Benchmarks and other intelligence to shape the college careers programme.

· Lead and coordinate a team of careers advisers.

· Collaborate with internal colleagues and external stakeholders, including employers and industry partners.

· Oversee the college’s support for learners’ applications to Higher Education through the UCAS process.

Experience and skills required:

· Proven experience in supporting careers advice and guidance.

· Strong leadership and organisational skills

· Excellent communication, collaborative and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to manage and create digital content

· Creative approach to event planning and implementation of a programme of activities
