Millfield Prep School is looking for a dedicated Caretaker to join our team. This hands-on role ensures the smooth operation of our campus, providing a safe and welcoming environment for staff, students, and visitors.
Working hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30am-5.00pm and 8.30-4.30 Friday. You will also be required to work Saturdays during term time 8am-12pm. The hourly rate for this position is £12.35.
Your duties will include transporting equipment and furniture, setting up spaces for exams, events, and key functions like Open Days and Speech Day, and maintaining school vehicles. You’ll also handle daily rubbish collection, basic DIY repairs, and assist with the receipt and delivery of post, parcels, and prescriptions. Supporting Health & Safety by completing fire checks, assisting fire wardens, managing contractors, and ensuring site security are key parts of the role. Flexibility to assist with emergencies and additional duties is essential. Skills in working at height, fire alarm operation, manual handling, and asbestos handling are required.
