Casual Educator (ELC & SAC)


Please note that casual approval does not guarantee employment with Catholic Education Archdiocese of Canberra & Goulburn, though it makes you eligible to work casually as an Educator within Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Canberra & Goulburn.

You will not be able to commence working until you go through the relevant recruitment process and accept an employment contract.

Preschool Educator (ELC preschool age and under), eligibility: 

  • Diploma in Early Childhood (or equivalent) OR
  • Certificate III in Education Support (or equivalent) OR
  • In the process of completing a relevant certificate III, diploma, or relevant teaching tertiary qualification.
  • First Aid certificate is desirable.


School Age Care Educator (SAC primary school aged children), eligibility: 

  • Diploma in Early Childhood (or equivalent) OR
  • Certificate IV in Education Support (or equivalent) OR
  • 2 years of full-time study in a degree course and 2 years’ experience working with children over preschool age OR
  • 1 year of full-time study in a diploma or degree course and have 1 year experience working with children over preschool age OR
  • In the process of completing a relevant certificate IV, diploma, or relevant teaching tertiary qualification.


Selection Criteria:

  • A commitment to the goals of Catholic education and a readiness to foster the aims and vision in the wider school community
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills so as to engage positively with colleagues and students
  • Applies experience, knowledge and training in planning, organising and achieving outcomes in time constraints
  • Initiative and the ability to handle a number of tasks concurrently, and have the flexibly to adjust to changing situations
