The Queen Elizabeth Academy is seeking to appoint an organised Catering Manager who will work to lead our catering team and who truly wants the best for our students. If you enjoy working with young people and would like to help them prepare for their future working lives, we would like to hear from you.

We are seeking to appoint an individual who, under the direction of the academy leadership team and Trust catering team, will develop and manage the overall catering service within the academy. The successful candidate will also play an active part in identifying opportunities for both the development of the service and improvements, to ensure both a cost effective and quality service.

To succeed, you will have relevant experience in a senior position within a large-scale catering establishment, be educated to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Catering and have achieved Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.

Why choose The Queen Elizabeth Academy? The Queen Elizabeth Academy is an 11-16 mixed academy based in Atherstone with approximately 715 pupils on roll. Following our Ofsted inspection in June 2022, we retained our “Good” rating, a real testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff and students. Ofsted commented the pupils were “respectful of each other’s views and are exceptionally supportive. Pupils behave well. They are proud of their school and the improvements that have been made in recent years. Pupils enjoy school and know that leaders and staff have the highest expectations for them.” The Ofsted report is a fair reflection of the academy, and we continue to develop as we push from Good to Great.

In November 2016, as part of the Priority School Building Programme, we moved into brand new premises that have given us access to fantastic new facilities, which really set us apart in the locality.

As a proud Academy Transformation Trust academy, we are devoted to professional development and support which is second to none. Our trust is registered as Disability Confident, and we welcome all applications. Our ATT Institute offers hundreds of training events and leadership accreditation qualifications to develop your talent to its full potential. As an academy we believe it is our role to develop your expertise to the full through supportive coaching in order to transform the lives of our students.

In return, you can expect fantastic Professional Development opportunities, a comprehensive employee benefits package, shopping discounts, cycle-to-work and gym schemes, cinema tickets and an employee assistance programme.

The Queen Elizabeth Academy is sponsored by Academy Transformation Trust, whose mission is to transform learning, aspirations and opportunities for their pupils and the communities in which they live. This commitment also extends to staff who are key to their success.

For more information and to apply, please visit our vacancies page.

Closing date: 9.00am on Wednesday, 27th November 2024 (or sooner should we receive sufficient applicants).

The successful applicant will undertake an enhanced DBS criminal record check, and online searches will be carried out in line with KCSIE update 2024. We are committed to Diversity, Equality and Inclusion and welcome all applications. We are open to Flexible Working.

The Queen Elizabeth Academy is part of the Academy Transformation Trust family of academies.

We are located in the historic North Warwickshire town of Atherstone. The school’s traditions are founded upon the opening of the original Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in 1573. In 2016 the school moved into a state of the art learning facility which provides outstanding opportunities for our whole community to learn and grow together.

We epitomise our mission that, “We can and we will,” in all we do and the year on year successes our students celebrate is testimony to the lived experience of our core purpose. We provide every TQEA student, from all backgrounds and with all abilities, with an exceptional education underpinned by an ambitious curriculum and high quality teaching. It is a curriculum for all in which students’ talents in Humanities, Technology, Arts, Performance and Music are nurtured along with the Core curriculum of Mathematics, English, Science and Citizenship. In doing so we prepare students for lifelong learning and the opportunity to compete and succeed in their chosen career path. Therefore, for every student we have the highest ambitions and this leads us to expect excellent standards of personal behaviour and mutual respect from all in our community.

Most importantly we are relentless in our care for our students and are committed to safeguarding. We want our students to emerge from their time at TQEA as happy, personally and academically successful young people who are well-prepared to contribute positively as adults to their families and their communities.

We look for a number of outstanding qualities in our staff: an innovative and creative approach to their work; enthusiasm, positivity and an unfaltering commitment to our students’ success, and an open- minded, proactive attitude to working within a team. We want individuals who want to go the extra mile for our community.

Teamwork is at the heart of everything we do and by working together we aim to secure a successful future for all. We encourage those interested in joining our school to spend some time with us to gain a real understanding of our ethos and what we have to offer.

The dedication of the staff and the enthusiasm of the students, coupled with the support of our parents and carers, makes this a special place.
