Passionate about education? Accomplished senior leader with a track record of regional influence and impact? We’re looking for someone with exceptional energy and vision to lead ourgovernors and support and challenge our Senior Leadership Team. This’ll entail around 10 evening meetings per year plus an overnight residential.
Our current Chair, Bindu Arjoon, will step down in summer 2025. Bindu is CEO of Exeter City Council and has served brilliantly on our Board for twelve years. We’re now looking for another high calibre individual to replace her. We’re an Ofsted outstanding, multi-award-winning college with over 10,000 students, £65m turnover and 1,100 staff and have just completed the first £24m of our ambitious masterplan strategy. We enjoy a first-class reputation regionally and nationally, thanks to our relentless commitment to exceptional teaching and learning.
You’ll need:
- a genuine passion for education and its power to changes lives
- proven experience in a significant leadership role, ideally within the Education sector
- a sound track record of effective strategic planning, managing growth, financial planning / monitoring and risk management
- an understanding of governance and board management, with
- experience of chairing meetings and committees
- exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, support and challenge senior leaders
- a strategic mindset and commitment to our vision, mission and values
- strong networking abilities and experience of building positive partnerships
