Here at De Lacy Academy, we have been on a journey that has seen the school recently judged as Outstanding by Ofsted (April 2022). They recognised the hard work and effort that goes into making this school a successful and caring place of learning that meets the needs of its pupils and its community.

We work closely with our local primaries and welcome members of the community into our academy every evening. The community makes great use of our faculties and our primary school links ensure that their students reap the benefits of all that we can offer.

We pride ourselves on very close, open and positive relationships with parents and carers, and expect them to be fully involved in supporting the learning of their son or daughter; we are an academy that believes in supporting the community we serve

De Lacy Academy enjoys the many benefits of being a member of the Delta Academies Trust; a group, or 'family' of schools of different age ranges and contexts, this enables good practice, expertise and resources to be shared between our group of schools and ultimately enables us to offer greater collaboration between each other and a wider range of learning opportunities and extra-curricular opportunities for our students.

Our staff are talented and enthusiastic and have all contributed to the academy’s success story. We have a staff rewards budget and socialise both as subject teams and as a whole staff. We also have access to a staff benefits scheme. At De Lacy, we value the continuous professional development of all our employees and recognise that our staff and students are most successful when they feel happy, valued, challenged and supported to achieve their very best.
