Barnsley College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Computing Lecturer to join our vibrant Digital and Creative Industries department. This is more than just a teaching role, it’s an opportunity to shape the future of the digital industry by empowering students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in an increasingly tech driven world.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the curriculum and influence the learning experience of students who will become the next generation of digital leaders. Your contributions will directly impact the College’s reputation as a leader in digital education, helping to bridge the gap between industry and academia.

The Computing Lecturer should deliver engaging and innovative lectures across Level 3 T Level courses and Higher Technical Qualifications HTQs at Levels 4 and 5. You will lead students in the specialisms of Programming Networking Cybersecurity and Data Analysis and utilise a variety of assessment techniques to challenge students and support their progress. Our new Computing Lecturer should help contribute to the planning and development of a forward-thinking computing curriculum.

About you

We are looking for candidates who have a strong foundation in Programming, Networking, Cybersecurity and Data Analysis. Industry experience in these fields is highly valued as well as any experience in teaching or mentoring.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to adapt complex concepts for diverse learning styles and a passion for fostering student development.

We are looking for an individual who has knowledge of teaching or experience of teaching T Levels at level 4 and 5 within the relevant subject (computing, programming, Networking and Cyber)
