Why Consider Oasis Silvertown?

Oasis Academy Silvertown is a vibrant and inspirational setting for a committed Cover Supervisor dedicated to providing pastoral care within a community of aspiring and ambitious young people.

Regardless of an individual young person’s personal drive and desire to develop, there are still the occasions when an experienced listening ear and a different perspective to offer guidance is needed and sought.

 We know it requires a special person who understands the approach, timing and support required.

As our Cover Supervisor you’ll be encouraged to draw upon your rich and varied experience to support and inspire, using effective techniques to provide the pastoral care required to a wide range of students in a state of the art new facility located in the iconic Royal Docks - a unique place of significant and fascinating architectural and historical importance.

Where better create a culture of support and positivity?

This is an exciting time to join Oasis Academy Silvertown as we move into our final period of growth before reaching full capacity in September 2026. The academy is oversubscribed, committed to developing staff as well as students and already has a strong legacy of great academic success. We work closely with families, charities, business and other organisations in our local community to ensure that our students have all of the support that they need to flourish, becoming Ready for University, Ready to Lead.

Whilst this role will undoubtedly require resilience, perseverance for the long-haul and a constant drive for innovative excellence we know that this is also an opportunity that will be incredibly rewarding and will offer exciting progression as we grow as a school.

To achieve our aspirations as a newly formed team we are looking for staff who are passionate about addressing social and educational injustice, who believe that every child deserves the best education possible and who want to join a team doing all that they can to achieve this. This role is key to providing the culture and climate of high expectation we aspire to.

Add to that:

• We are a successfully growing secondary academy delivering consistently great results;

• We enjoy the benefits of a newly purpose-built facility (2022) with excellent transport links;

• We live and breathe our core values in everything we do, say and promote - be proud, be professional, be nice, be independent; We are driven by social justice and providing opportunities for all.

• You’ll join a supportive and passionate team where you can use your knowledge and encouraged to build on your existing skills with opportunities for further training and professional development;

As the only secondary school in the area we are rooted in the community with strong connections to a range of community hubs and foundations - all serving our population.

We are looking for staff who are passionate about addressing social and educational injustice, who believe that every child deserves the best education possible and who want to join a team doing all that they can to achieve this. Is this you?

If the above resonates with the importance you personally place on opportunities for all and you would like to apply, please complete the Application Form (CVs are not accepted). Please ensure you provide the name, address and status of two referees, one of whom should be your current Line Manager.
