An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mathematics teacher with outstanding potential to join our ambitious and vibrant school. The Mathematics department follow a mastery curriculum at Key Stage 3 focused on ensuring that our students gain a more conceptual understanding of the topics that they will go on to study in more detail at Key Stage 4. Y11 Mathematics results in 2023 were in line with the Regional and National averages at every grade measure. Over 67% of pupils achieved grades 9-4 with 16% of students achieving top grades 9-7. We are consistently one of the best performing maths departments in catholic high schools in Manchester.

The successful candidate will be an experienced or outstanding recently qualified teacher with:

  • the ability to engage students and transmit an enthusiasm for Mathematics;
  • knowledge and understanding of current teaching and learning strategies in Mathematics;
  • the ability or potential to teach inspirational lessons to a range of abilities across both key stages;
  • an enthusiastic commitment to developing the school’s extra-curricular offering;
  • a commitment to Loreto High School’s high expectations and powerful ethos;
  • the resolve to make a real difference to the lives of our students;
  • excellent subject knowledge;
  • a desire to work collaboratively and to make a real contribution to the development of our department and the progress of our students;
