Position: Deputy Head - Academic

Weekly schedule: Monday to Friday

Student’s age: 13-18 years old

Weekly workload: Around 10 classes/week (IGCSE/A Level curriculum)

Contract length: 2 years

Probation time: 2 months

Job Purpose

• To support the Head in the day to day running of the school in relation to academics;
• To lead the academic teaching team to excellence in IGCSE and A-Level results;
• To provide creative, adaptive, and comprehensive support for student development;
• To develop the professional teaching and learning standards for students and teachers;
• To develop the key skills of our students in preparation for university overseas.

Desired Candidates

• Speak English at an idiomatic level;
• Bachelor or above;
• Relevant to the subject you teach or education;
• At least 2 years of related subject on IGCSE or A-Level curriculum;
• PGCE or PGCEI is highly desirable;
• Minimum 2 years of full-time leadership experience in an international school setting;
• Central to the pastoral provision in the school and aware of the pastoral welfare of all students with whom they come into contact;
•  Support prep, recruiting or marketing events;
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively in order to meet deadlines and plan for teaching and learning needs in advance so quality is high and quality checks are built in;
• Excellent professionalism, strong sense of responsibility, and emotional intelligence.
