Deputy Head, Head of Pastoral Care
As our Deputy Head, Head of Pastoral you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head and the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams, serving as a vital link between the Staff Room and the leadership. Your insights into the pastoral life of our staff—both individually and collectively—will be crucial in enhancing the effectiveness of Pownall Hall School.
You will oversee the pastoral systems across key stages, ensuring that all pupils enjoy a well-rounded program. Collaboration is key as you work closely with educators in EYFS, Pre-Prep, and Prep to create a seamless and enriching experience for our children. Building and nurturing strong relationships with the Deputy Head of School, ELT, SLT, Heads of Department, and teaching staff will be essential.
This dynamic role offers a variety of responsibilities, encompassing pastoral care, leadership, quality assurance, and resource management, alongside organisation of pastoral related school events.
Mathematics Teacher, Years 3 - 6
In addition to strong leadership skills, we are searching for a Prep Maths Specialist. In this pivotal position, you will serve as a key link between your subject and the leadership team, sharing insights that shape both our enhanced curriculum designed to achieve exceptional 11+ results. Your expertise in mathematics will be instrumental in ensuring that all children engage with a rigorous and balanced curriculum designed to challenge and inspire.
In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues to provide continuity across year groups, guiding and supporting teaching staff in delivering an enriched academic experience. You will facilitate regular meetings focused on curriculum planning and assessment strategies, fostering a culture of excellence that prepares pupils for their future academic journeys. Additionally, you will maintain up-to-date online schemes of work, ensuring that assessment criteria are aligned with our goal of maximizing each pupil's potential.
