Job overview

 We are seeking a dynamic and inspirational Deputy Head Teacher for our primary school based in Ladbroke Grove, North Kensington. We are part of a vibrant and extremely diverse local community and we pride ourselves on being a genuinely inclusive community school that celebrates difference and promotes equality.

 You will support the Head Teacher in the strategic leadership of the school and you will play an integral role in coaching and developing staff. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner, who has the ability to share, model and demonstrate the characteristics of effective teaching and learning. Leading positively, professionally and enthusiastically you will support the school in maintaining high standards for all our children whilst creating a safe, fun and nurturing environment to help our children to succeed. You will play a pivotal role in creating bonds with the local community and forging and maintaining external partnerships.

 

Successful candidates must have significant experience of urban primary school leadership.

About Barlby Primary School

Barlby Primary School occupies a state of the art building situated in North Kensington and serves a culturally and socially diverse community. There are currently 379 children on roll and 70 members of staff. The school is over subscribed.

All members of the school community have worked together with stakeholders to improve and maintain the quality of provision to the current levels and are proud of the achievements they have made.

Barlby Primary School is in The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. 53% of primary age children resident in the borough are educated privately.

The two main catchment areas for the school are the St Charles Ward and Golborne Ward. Both wards are ranked in the top 10% of most deprived wards nationally .The school’s population is heavily weighted to low income families.

School Organisation

The school is organised as follows:

• EYFS: one nursery class and two reception classes
• Key Stage One: 4 classes occupying the first floor of the building
• Key Stage Two: 8 classes occupying the first and second floor of the building
• An 18 place resource base specialising in ASD
