Campion School is seeking an experienced and dedicated senior leader to join our team in the role of Deputy Headteacher for Pastoral.

The successful candidate will make a strong contribution in further improving behaviour and safety, safeguarding, early help, SEND, LAC, attendance and admissions and to increase capacity at a leadership level to meet the future needs of the School. The role also provides leadership development experience that will be grown within United Learning Trust.

The postholder will work to support the Headteacher in achieving the strategic vision of the school. This important role is designed to provide the successful candidate with a range of career-enhancing opportunities to develop an existing skill set through areas of agreed school improvement work whilst offering a range of support that prepares you for future next steps in your leadership journey.

This is a rewarding, yet incredibly demanding role and the successful candidate will work closely with all stakeholders in order to support our high expectations. Therefore, high levels of communication skills and emotional intelligence are essential for the position.

Campion School in Bugbrooke, Near Northampton, is a co-educational secondary school. It became a Language College in September 1997 and an academy in 2011.

The school adopts the latest teaching pedagogy and staff engage in an internal teaching and learning development programme called “XL” (Leading to Excellent Teaching).  A continual evaluation cycle measures the effectiveness of Campion School’s work and identifies the next steps to be taken to ensure continuous improvement in all areas of teaching and learning.

To ensure that all students in the sixth form are challenged an motivated, the latest equipment for interactive lessons is utilised.
