Roehampton Gate School are recruiting for a Deputy Head Teacher. We are looking for an outstanding relationship builder, with a passion for providing children and young people with special needs with the best possible education. You will have knowledge of formulating the aims and objectives of the school, whilst establishing policies for achieving these aims and objectives. You will be energetic and have a strong sense of moral purpose, and the ability to inspire the team to achieve the highest standards to ensure best outcomes for pupils.

Roehampton Gate School is a purpose-built day school for young people with autistic spectrum disorders. It is situated on Priory Lane. The spacious and modern building has been specifically designed to accommodate up to 70 young people with autistic spectrum disorders. The classrooms are set up for specialist subjects including information technology, art, food technology, science and music, together with exclusive sensory and therapy rooms/suites.
Main duties:
- To work with the Headteacher to ensure that the aims, values and objectives of the school are achieved through an accurate and effective self-evaluation and development plan
- To lead the Pastoral, Wellbeing and SEN provision within the school with high quality analysis, reporting from data and front facing work with students
- To guide and support the SENDCo in daily operational tasks
- To guide, support, role model and develop the schools PBS approach
- To support all staff in ensuring and promoting the wellbeing of the staff team
- To ensure that the school meets the required standards for safeguarding its pupils
- To support the effective implementation of the school’s staff appraisal structures
- Ensuring that accurate reporting is made available as required for all stake holders, including parents / carers and governors
- Monitor the quality of learning and progress made ensuring learners are able to access outstanding educational opportunities
- To lead training for staff, when needed
- To update polices and procedures, where necessary
- Undertake other reasonable roles, as directed by the Head teacher

About Roehampton Gate School
Roehampton Gate School is a purpose-built day school for young people with autistic spectrum disorders, in particular Asperger's Syndrome and associated learning difficulties. It is situated next to the Hospital Roehampton. The school opened in April 2010.
The spacious and modern building has been specifically designed to accommodate up to 40 young people with autistic spectrum disorders and Asperger's Syndrome.
The classrooms are set up for specialist subjects including information technology, art, food technology, science and music, together with exclusive sensory and therapy rooms/suites or studios.
Roehampton Gate School is also uniquely placed to benefit from the extensive therapy and specialist mental health services provided at the Hospital Roehampton. Staff and students will also work closely with the child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) and experienced educational psychologists
