Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools (ESMS) are recruiting for a permanent Development Assistant to join the Development Office on a part-time basis. The Development Office has a broad remit which involves engaging the ESMS wider community (parents, alumni, staff and friends) and keeping them connected to the family of Schools as they are today. The department focuses on developing relationships that benefit both the schools and the connections in various ways, from social events to establish a sense of community, to supporting the careers department and academic or extra-curricular objectives, and fundraising for a variety of objectives, such as the Schools’ Bursary Fund, Access to Excellence.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of providing administrative support in a busy office environment and experience of database administration. They will be able to multi-task and prioritise their own workload with good attention to detail. The Development Office is a busy environment and all members of the team are required to use their initiative, dealing with email and phone enquiries from former pupils, staff and parents, current staff, parents and members of the public. It is essential that the candidate is committed to the ESMS values and is a team player.

This is a permanent position available as soon as possible (subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks). The postholder will be contracted for 20 hours per week, working Monday to Friday for 4 hours per day. The core working hours will be between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM. The postholder must be prepared to be flexible with regards to working hours and capable of adjusting to the events and demands of a busy Development Office.

Remuneration will be from £13,369- £14,139 per annum, on the ESMS Support Staff Salary Scale E dependent upon qualifications and experience.
