About the Role
You’ll join our multi-disciplinary team of dedicated and embedded clinical staff providing psychological assessment and intervention for pupils within the schools, guidance for education teams and professional development training for staff. The role involves communicating with families / carers and specialist agencies and Clinical Leadership may be potentially linked to this role. You’ll work alongside the clinical teams’ Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychotherapists, Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists and Therapies Assistant’s.
Due to most children and young people in OFG already having EHCP’s on placement entry, our Educational Psychologists are afforded the capacity to support children and young people without the time constraints associated with EHCN assessments. You will be involved in a rich variety of work, delivering and supporting children and young people at universal, targeted and specialist service levels, to meet their EHCP identified needs, and emerging needs.

Who we are looking for?
We are looking for a qualified Educational Psychologist with a masters or doctoral professional qualification and HCPC registration. You’ll need to be creative and passionate about improving outcomes for pupils with complex needs.
The ideal candidate will be resilient and have experience of working in with people with complex SEN needs. You’ll need to be a good communicator with strong skills in assessment and report writing.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide psychological assessment and intervention for pupils within the schools
- Offer guidance for education teams
- To provide supervision to agreed members of the clinical team
- Communicating with families/ carers and specialist agencies
- Engage in professional development training for all staff
Essential Criteria
- A doctoral or masters professional qualification in Educational Psychology
- Registered with the HCPC as qualified Educational Psychologist
- Creative and passionate about improving outcomes for pupils
- Able to work as part of a team and be self-reliant
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle required

Overton School provides specialist education for young people between the ages of 7 – 18.
