Loretto School is one of Britain’s leading independent boarding and day schools located on the outskirts of Edinburgh. We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as our Enterprise Manager.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for owning all elements of Loretto’s enterprise commitments, delivering end-to-end events, functions, and lettings, with the opportunity to help shape the growing enterprise function within Loretto School. As such, you will lead with the attraction and development of new business opportunities for the School and its commercial subsidiaries.

Strategy and Planning

●       Develop the commercial strategy and deliver a comprehensive schedule of events, holiday camps, lettings, conferences and functions across the year to meet objectives.

●       Develop new business initiatives and opportunities to help maximise non-fee income for the School.

●       Maintain positive working relationships with existing, past and potential customers as well as third-party organisations and agencies.

●       Calculate costings, price points, and implement budget controls for all activity.

●       Manage any policies related to events and lettings at the School (e.g., Damages Policy, Call Out Policy). The postholder will help ensure that these sit within the contractual remit of every engagement and are enforced.

●       Communicate details of any bookings to all relevant colleagues and key stakeholders – excellent interdepartmental communication is imperative.

●       Appraise, interrogate, analyse and evaluate market information and competitor activity.

Delivery

●       Work in close partnership with the Catering, H&S and Estates teams to ensure any catering, security, risk, health and safety, cleaning and maintenance needs are in place.

●       Undertake facility inspections prior to, and following, each engagement; liaising with the Estates department where required.

●       Ensure all contractual agreements are fulfilled, fit for purpose, and are legally compliant and binding.

●       Be the first port of call to ensure the smooth running of the event/letting and be on hand to deal with issues. Where required, this may include providing out-of-hours support via mobile phone.

●       Issue invoices and purchase order numbers in line with terms and conditions. This includes liaising with the Finance department in a timely manner so that there are compliant and robust audit trails.

●       Work with the Marketing team to ensure the effective marketing of any events.

Skills:

●       Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, planning multiple events at once without regular supervision.

●       Eagerness to perform the role with confidence, commitment, cheerfulness, care, precision and professionalism.

●       Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to engage confidently and effectively with a range of people to deliver objectives.

●       Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

●       Willingness to undertake job-related training as required by the School. This is an environment that fosters and encourages growth.

●       This is a fast-paced role where you’ll be working across multiple projects simultaneously, so good organisation and high energy are essential.

●       Excellent planning and organisational skills, with a solution-finding mindset.


Knowledge/Qualifications

Experience in a related role, or a university/college degree in a related discipline.

This job requires registration to the Protection of Vulnerable Group Scheme (PVG).

The hours for this role are 35 hours, across 5 days per week according to a rota, which may include weekend working. There may be some occasions when additional hours will be necessary for the completion of the duties of the position.

Salary will be determined by experience and aptitude for the role but will be in the region of £29,000 to £35,000 per annum plus a package of benefits.
