Job overview

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Football Coach to join our team. If you are passionate about developing young talent and delivering high-quality coaching sessions, this could be the perfect role for you. Our ideal candidate will not only manage school sport teams but also support player development, ensuring each student's growth and enjoyment in the sport.

Your responsibilities will include preparing facilities, managing equipment, and supporting the teacher-coach workforce, creating a seamless and professional coaching experience.

Your main focus will be on coaching football programmes across school terms, crafting engaging and impactful sessions. Working closely with the Head of Football, you will contribute to programme planning and communication, developing and documenting coaching session plans, and continuously reviewing opportunities for improvement.

We are looking for candidates with at least an FA Level 2 qualification, although FA Level 3/UEFA B or higher is preferred. With a minimum of three years' coaching experience in youth sports, you should possess excellent communication and organisational skills, and a strong commitment to your own professional development.

The role is for 12 hours per week during term time on a fixed term basis for terms 1 and 2 (1st September 2024 to 2nd April 2025) worked across Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

The salary is £6,700 for the duration of the fixed term contract (inclusive of holiday pay). In addition, you will enjoy a range of benefits, including discounted freshly prepared lunches, access to school facilities, and discounts/cashback at high street shops and restaurants through the school’s Employee Assistance Programme.

The modern world is highly competitive and the way we prepare our children for its demands is more important than ever. Young people today are subject to great pressures and it takes strong personalities to avoid the traps that life has lying in wait. Hence a good school must seek to develop confidence and maturity in all its pupils whatever their strengths and weaknesses.

All individuals have different needs and therefore a variety of opportunities must be available to enable each one to achieve success. They must learn to apply themselves to academic work but must also be encouraged to express their other talents.

With its outstanding facilities, a staff:pupil ratio of 1:7.5, an extraordinary range of academic courses and the unrivalled strength of its extra-curricular programme, Millfield strives to achieve all these aims. It also seeks to move with the times whilst maintaining the important traditions of good manners, discipline and respect for others.

We pride ourselves on the richness and diversity of the Millfield experience as well as the friendly atmosphere within our community.
