About the Role:

As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will play a crucial role in delivering English, Mathematics, and Digital Functional Skills qualifications to RLC and RAF Apprentices, as well as other Pearson TQ apprentices. Your main base will be Normandy Barracks, DST, Leconfield, but you will also travel to various Pearson and employer sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Functional Skills qualifications at levels 1 and/or 2, including initial assessments, diagnostic assessments, and exam administration.
  • Manage a caseload of learners to ensure timely completion of their qualifications.
  • Organize course bookings, issue joining instructions, and conduct Speaking and Listening assessments.
  • Provide both face-to-face and remote learning support, motivating learners in their studies.
  • Prepare individual learning plans and maintain detailed records of learner progress.
  • Develop and utilize differentiated teaching materials tailored to individual learning styles.
  • Ensure compliance with all Quality Assurance Systems, Risk Management systems, and company policies, including Health and Safety.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., Cert Ed, PGCE, or DTLLS).
  • Minimum Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics
  • Proven experience delivering Functional Skills up to Level 2.
  • Strong ICT skills and the ability to use various delivery methods, including technology.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and enthusiastic team player.
  • Full, current driving license and willingness to travel for work (mileage allowance payable).
