Graduate Assistant, School Counselling

Intern School Counsellor

Workload: 100% - includes evening and weekend work, as required.

Start date: School year 2024-25 – 01 August 2024.

The position will suit candidates who are interested in teaching and enjoy the challenge of working with bright and inquisitive international students, aged 13 – 19 (grades 7 to 12).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist our experienced Head of School Psychology in providing individual and group counseling sessions to support students' social and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with the Psychologists to develop and implement proactive wellness programs aimed at promoting emotional resilience and mental health.
  • Support in crisis intervention and help address immediate concerns related to student behavior, relationships, or emotional challenges.
  • Assist in organizing and delivering workshops or awareness sessions on topics such as stress management, conflict resolution, and healthy peer relationships.
  • Provide administrative support for documenting student progress and maintaining confidential records.
  • Act as a point of contact for students seeking emotional support, ensuring they feel heard and guided to appropriate resources.
