Tes are supporting a school looking for an inspirational and innovative teacher with excellent leadership skills, to play a key role in the management of the Computing Department.

You will lead, manage and develop the Computing curriculum, helping to deliver innovative and excellent teaching that facilitates pupil progress and ensures high standards of attainment. 

In addition to this, you will also oversee the operational and strategic planning of the department, as well as managing the departmental team and engaging with pupils outside the classroom in exciting technology-based clubs, competitions and activities.

The school are looking for a dynamic individual with excellent subject knowledge and the ability to deliver enthusiastic and engaging lessons to students. You will need a proven track record of teaching Computing at secondary level, along with experience of managing a team and the ability to motivate and inspire both pupils and colleagues.


Computing is a significant growth area in the school, with increasing popularity at GCSE and the achievement of their first results at A level. 

They offer a wide range of exciting activities to support and inspire computer science students. This includes competitions such as the annual Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge, Oxford Computing Challenge and the Perse School Coding Challenge. Over the past two years they have also had pupils make it through to the finals of the BAFTA Young Game Designers competition. 

In addition to competitions, they run an annual Computing trip for A level students, nominate Year 9 students to take part in the Royal Institute Masterclasses and run a number of engaging events including Robotics and Coding as part of field week.
