We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled and experienced teacher to lead our Dance department.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualities:

  • Be a talented, inspirational, and enthusiastic teacher who is able to engage with all students and promote a love of the subject.
  • Have a passion for performing arts and musical theatre and be enthusiastic about providing opportunities to grow student participation and performance.
  • Be an inspirational teacher who can demonstrate and model outstanding practice to support the development of colleagues.
  • Be able to set and model high expectations that promote an exceptional climate for learning in the department.
  • Be responsible for the quality of education, quality assurance processes and improvement planning for dance.
  • Develop an excellent academic and extra-curricular curriculum that appeals to a wide range of students.

Dance is a popular subject that is taught from Key Stage 3–5, with students following the AQA specification for GCSE and A level at Key Stage 5. The faculty also offers a vibrant enrichment programme outside of the classroom, including successfully competing in the national competition ‘Dance Live’.

Wollaston School is a large, rural community school located in a village setting about 15 minutes drive from Northampton. The student intake draws on nearby villages and the towns of Earls Barton, Wellingborough, and Irchester. We have over 1400 students on roll with approximately 240 students in the Sixth Form. The school is over-subscribed. Wollaston School was rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in May 2023.
