We are seeking an experienced and visionary ICT and Technological Innovation Manager to lead the technological initiatives at Sócrates Educa International School, a prominent international school located in Salou, Tarragona. This is a unique opportunity for a professional eager to apply their expertise in management, development, programming, and technological innovation to an expanding educational project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ICT Team Leadership and Coordination: Lead and coordinate the school's ICT team by setting priorities, assigning tasks, and ensuring the completion of all projects on time and to the highest standard. You will foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Strategic Technology Development and Implementation: Develop and implement a technology strategy aligned with the school’s educational objectives. This includes identifying, integrating, and implementing tools and applications to optimize academic, administrative, and management processes, enhancing efficiency and innovation across the school.
  • Comprehensive Management of Technological Infrastructure: Oversee and maintain all software systems, hardware, and technological devices, ensuring they operate optimally. This includes managing servers, networks, security systems, and other critical technology components.
  • Software Management, Specialization, Design, and Programming: Become proficient in the school’s management software, optimizing processes, and ensuring their maximum performance and effectiveness. You may also design, program, and develop custom educational software and tools.
  • Innovative Educational and Academic Management: Propose and implement innovative technological solutions to enhance educational and academic processes, thereby improving learning and school management through advanced technological perspectives.
  • Support for the Educational Community: Provide technical support to the management team, teachers, students, and families. Ensure effective use of technology to enhance the educational experience, and offer creative solutions to any technological challenges.
  • Special Events and Project Management: Oversee the technical aspects of all school events, including audio, video setups, multimedia presentations, and other technological needs. Ensure all materials are prepared and functional for each event.
  • Website Supervision and Digital Communication: Maintain and update the school’s website, ensuring it is user-friendly, accessible, and secure. This includes content management, technical oversight, and ensuring compliance with security regulations.
  • Telephony and WiFi Network Management: Ensure a robust communication infrastructure by managing the school’s telephony and WiFi network systems. Address and resolve any connectivity issues.
  • ICT Security Policies Development and Implementation: Create and maintain IT security policies to ensure a safe technological environment for the entire educational community. Train staff and students in best practices for the safe use of technology.
  • Management of Technology Suppliers: Negotiate and manage agreements with the school’s technology service and product suppliers. Evaluate new offers, monitor existing contracts, and ensure effective and efficient supplier relationships.

As the educational project is in its expansion phase, the Head of ICT and Technological Innovation will also lead the development of new educational software and contribute to the technological growth of the project, extending beyond daily operations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Technical and academic qualifications relevant to the specialty.
  • Proven experience in managing ICT systems and leading technological teams, preferably in educational environments.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English (high level) is essential; knowledge of Catalan is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of network, server, and computer security management, with a demonstrated ability to integrate new technologies and applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a creative and proactive approach.
  • Ability to define and execute technological strategies that add value to the project.
  • Experience in managing technological projects, including event coordination and website maintenance.
  • Familiarity with data security policies and their implementation in an educational context.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Socrates Educa International School Salou is an international school in southern Catalonia which opened in 2012.

The school, located south of Barcelona between the mountains and the sea, has a new building complex with potential to welcome up to 800 students, and offers a complete education to students aged 1 to 18. This is the first school to run with the Socrates Educa model, an innovative pedagogical system which is likely to be implemented in other new schools in the future.
