Cambridge International School (CIS) in Bratislava, Slovakia, is seeking to appoint a committed and skilled Head of Mathematics. This role is for the 2025/26 academic year with the start date to begin on 20th August 2025.
Reporting to: Head of Secondary
Role Description
Experienced and committed head teacher of Mathematics who will also contribute to the strategic development of the School in Secondary School team. The Head of Secondary Mathematics will have the overall responsibility for the professional leadership and management of the department and its staff, to ensure high standards of learning and teaching are delivered, resources are used efficiently and effectively, and the curriculum is managed and developed in accordance with school policy.

- Management of the team
- Coordination of work within relevant subjects
- Subject specific assessment
- Resourcing of the relevant subject area
- The ability and experience of teaching Additional and Further Mathematics is required.
- The ability to teach Computer Science would be an asset.
DESIRED CANDIDATE
Skills and Qualifications
- Masters or Bachelor of Mathematics and Mathematics Education skills
- Proven record experience in teaching Mathematics to IGCSE and A-level. Ability to teach Further Mathematics will be considered as a plus.
- Qualified Teacher status with Cambridge curriculum
- Ability to create engaging and effective learning environments
- Experience as a Middle Leader developing less experienced colleagues.

Initial contracts will be for a two-year fixed term, one year by agreement, with the possibility of future renewal by mutual agreement. As with most quality schools, we have a three-month probationary period, details of which are clearly explained in employment contracts.

CIS provides a full schooling programme for 6 to 18 year olds with the university entrance qualification of Cambridge Advance Levels for the older students.
