Anfield is an independent Catholic, International School, comprising of a Primary school, SEN Primary school and 2 Kindergartens, whose curriculum is underpinned by the Early Years Foundation Stage, followed by the English National Curriculum. Students aged from 2 to 11 years are provided with a high quality and globally-minded education. Anfield enjoys an enviable reputation as a thriving, dynamic, happy, caring and supportive environment with a strong family atmosphere.

Anfield International Kindergarten is a successful and well-regarded English language kindergarten in Hong Kong. Established in 1999, Anfield has a reputation for providing high quality education in a family setting to kindergarten, nursery and playgroup children. More than 150 children, of many different nationalities, attend classes in the well-equipped campus based in Kowloon. The education framework is based upon the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum adapted for an international setting. 

The School Board is seeking to appoint a dynamic, inspirational, enthusiastic and committed Head of School (Early Years) for August 2025. This person will build on the successes of our school, further developing it to becoming outstanding in all areas; and continue to develop our caring family school, which has an excellent reputation in the Hong Kong community.

This is an exciting and challenging post requiring current relevant senior management experience. The new Head of School should be ambitious to lead the school forward, implementing existing plans and ensuring the pupils continue to receive the highest quality education. 

With an excellent pupil: teacher ratio, a happy atmosphere and dedicated and enthusiastic teaching staff, this is a wonderful opportunity for a talented Headteacher/ Deputy Head to make his/her personal mark.

As Head of School you will be: 

  • a well-qualified and experienced educator   
  • passionate about learning and teaching, internationally minded, setting high expectations for every student and every teacher   
  • an outstanding classroom practitioner with skills and a thorough knowledge of the English National Curriculum EYFS   
  • able to nurture and further develop the school’s academic, pastoral, social and cultural achievements   
  • committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement   
  • experienced at Senior Management Level with strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, resulting in continuing school improvement   
  • responsive to the wider school community    
  • committed to inclusion and equality of opportunity   
  • committed to our Catholic ethos


In addition, the successful applicant will: 

  • have a passion to inspire pupils and do whatever it takes to achieve success   
  • have proven experience of effective leadership in influencing improvement at a whole school level   
  • have a proven track record of significantly raising standards in an EYFS school setting   
  • have experience of managing others and supporting them to develop their teaching practice
  • have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and be experienced in establishing and maintaining good professional relationships   
  • have a good working knowledge of safeguarding and SEND   
  • demonstrate commitment to partnership, collaboration and sharing


The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experience: 

  • B.Ed (Hons) or PGCE with QTS   
  • a track record of leadership and management experience   
  • exceptional communication skills/English language skills   
  • high levels of ICT capability
