Thank you for your interest in the role of Headteacher at Brookfield Primary School. We are delighted that you are considering joining our vibrant school community. Brookfield is a two-form entry school located in the heart of North London and serves a wonderfully diverse community, with children from all backgrounds and experiences coming together to share in a love of learning.

As a school, we are passionate about providing a creative and inclusive education that is rooted in strong academic achievement, personal development, well-being and that places a high value on the arts. We have an artist-in-residence who works with all children across the school and we have received the Platinum Artsmark.

Brookfield has been rated as “Good” by Ofsted since 2009 – our most recent ungraded inspection in September 2023 confirmed this judgement. We believe we are at a pivotal time in the school’s journey, and we are seeking a leader who is passionate about achieving educational excellence and driving forward our strategic goals (please see page 6 for details) while honouring the traditions and strengths of our school.

As the Headteacher, you will work with a supportive and engaged Governing Body and an enthusiastic staff team that is deeply committed to the school’s mission to provide an education that goes beyond the classroom, giving our students opportunities to become confident, compassionate, and capable young people.

You will have the freedom to lead, innovate, and inspire, building on the school’s current achievements and taking it to new heights. We believe strongly in collaboration, and we expect that you will work closely with staff, parents, and the local community to continue fostering a culture of inclusion, respect, and creativity. To this end we are an actively anti-racist school with a vibrant anti-racism committee made up of staff and parents.

Brookfield Primary is also part of Camden’s vibrant network of schools, and we are fortunate to collaborate with other local schools and educational leaders. Our new Headteacher will have the opportunity to lead our school’s involvement in this network, sharing best practices and engaging in joint initiatives that benefit not only Brookfield but our wider Camden community.

We are looking for an outstanding leader with a deep commitment to child-centred education, a proven track record of driving improvement, and an ability to inspire a team to achieve high standards. In return, we offer a fulfilling role where your vision and leadership will shape the future of a school beloved by its community.

Please feel free to visit us to see our wonderful school in action. More information is available on our website, and our team is here to answer any questions you may have. Thank you once again for your interest,

Emma Jay, Chair of Governors
