The Island Private School of Limassol is a polysystemic educational hub that offers 3 programmes (International Baccalaureate, Waldorf & Montessori) under one roof. We follow a holistic approach, offering a full-day learning environment (08:00-18:00) for international students of diverse cultural backgrounds.

Starting from Pre-Primary, the educational journey at our school supports students on their learning path, tailoring education to individual needs, aspirations and connecting it to real-life experiences and up-to-date practices. 

We are now seeking a competent, experienced and, above all, passionate MYP History Teacher to join the team from August 2025.

History Teacher focuses on the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and plays a key role in developing students’ critical thinking, research, and analytical skills while nurturing their understanding of global and local history. Through the MYP framework, you will encourage inquiry-based learning and help students connect historical events to broader themes such as culture, identity, and change.

Curriculum Development:

  • Design and deliver engaging History lessons in alignment with the MYP framework.
  • Plan the units/lessons in the ManagBac system.
  • Develop and adapt instructional materials that cater to different learning styles and abilities.

Student Engagement:

  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to develop their critical thinking, research, analytical skills. 

Assessment and Feedback:

  • Implement effective assessment strategies to evaluate students' progress in alignment with MYP assessment criteria.
  • Provide constructive feedback to support students' skills growth and development.
  • Use the ManageBac system to track students progress and report it to parents. 

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other teachers and educators within the MYP programme to ensure a cohesive and interdisciplinary approach.
  • Participate in curriculum planning and development meetings.

Extracurricular Activities:

  • Organise and facilitate extracurricular activities, clubs, other events to further engage students in the arts beyond the classroom, including visits to museums.

Professional Development:

  • Stay updated on current trends, techniques, and best practices in art education.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills and contribute to the growth of the arts department.


Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in History is a must. 
  • Teaching certification or qualification (PGCE, QTS) preferred.
  • Experience teaching History at the MYP is preferred. 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive school culture.


Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 - 16:00.

Recruitment process:

  1. Panel interview including Head of school, I&S Faculty Lead and Employee Success Manager (30 minutes).
  2. Online trial lesson (60 minutes).
  3. Final interview with the Founder and CEO (20 minutes).
