Job overview

  • Oversee MYP Curriculum Delivery: Lead and manage the implementation of the MYP curriculum across all subjects, ensuring alignment with IB standards and educational goals.
  • Facilitate Teacher Collaboration: Provide professional development and regular collaboration opportunities for MYP teachers to share best practices, plan interdisciplinary units, and support student learning.
  • Monitor Student Progress: Track and analyze student performance data to ensure academic achievement and early intervention for students who may need additional support.
  • Ensure Alignment with IB Standards: Ensure that the MYP curriculum and assessments meet the requirements set by the International Baccalaureate (IB), including planning, teaching, and evaluating according to MYP principles.
  • Coordinate Assessments and Reporting: Oversee the implementation of formative and summative assessments, ensuring that assessments are consistent with MYP guidelines and accurately reflect students' learning.
  • Provide Leadership and Support: Act as a resource and guide for teachers, students, and parents regarding MYP requirements, philosophy, and practices.
  • Promote Interdisciplinary Learning: Foster and coordinate interdisciplinary teaching projects that encourage collaboration across different subject areas, enriching students’ understanding.
  • Lead Professional Development: Organize and facilitate workshops and training sessions for staff on MYP pedagogy, assessment practices, and IB standards.
  • Maintain Communication with Stakeholders: Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and the broader school community to provide updates on student progress, curriculum changes, and school initiatives.
  • Promote International Mindedness: Encourage and integrate global perspectives and intercultural understanding throughout the MYP curriculum, fostering international-mindedness in students.
  • Support the Development of Approaches to Learning (ATL): Guide students in developing skills for self-management, thinking, research, communication, and social interaction through MYP frameworks.
  • Coordinate Student and Teacher Evaluations: Conduct regular evaluations of teaching effectiveness, student progress, and curriculum delivery to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Support Transition to IB Diploma Programme: Help guide students through the transition from the MYP to the IB Diploma Programme (DP), ensuring a seamless educational experience.
