We are seeking to appoint a passionate Informal Jewish Educator who will

  • Lead a programme of events to mark and celebrate Jewish festivals and other important Jewish events such as Yom Ha’atzmaut.
  • Lead optional prayer services.
  • Lead Jewish student leadership programmes.
  • Lead Jewish clubs and extra-curricular programmes
  • Lead Jewish charitable initiatives.
  • Lead a programme of Jewish trips and visits.
  • Develop external partners with other Jewish and inter-faith organisations.
  • Deliver talks and workshops in Jewish Studies lessons


This is an exciting time to join the Jewish Studies Department at King Solomon High School as we have a new Deputy Headteacher leading Jewish ethos and personal development. We are at the start of redesigning our formal and informal Jewish education.

This role is open to teachers and non-teachers and is available as full or part time role. The salary will be agreed with the successful candidate and will be based on experience.

King Solomon High School is a unique and wonderful Jewish secondary school set in the London Borough of Redbridge. Our school is inclusive, and our students and staff come from a range of cultural and religious backgrounds. 


  • Do you have successful experience of youth work (ideally Jewish youth work) of at least 2 years?
  • Do you have a lived experience of the Jewish religion and Jewish observance?
  • Do you have knowledge of what excellent informal Jewish education looks like and experience of delivering informal Jewish education programmes.
  • Do you have a successful track record in engaging young people in Jewish life (or an understanding of how to do this)?
  • Can you work within King Solomon High School’s unique Jewish context?

The school is currently going through a period of embedding change and improvement. The Headteacher is recruiting new staff to transform all aspects of the school. This is an exciting opportunity to lead real and meaningful change, lead innovation and be part of a great success story.
