International Community Schools Abu Dhabi is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Islamic Teacher (Any Nationality) to join our esteemed team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Islamic Studies education specifically tailored for high school students (Grades 9-12). This role involves not only teaching Islamic principles and values but also nurturing the spiritual, moral, and intellectual development of students during a critical phase of their education.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Islamic teachings and the ability to convey these concepts in a way that resonates with teenagers. They will also be expected to actively participate in the school community, contributing to a positive and inclusive environment.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
  • Tailor lessons to meet the academic, spiritual, and developmental needs of high school students, ensuring relevance and engagement.
  • Integrate various teaching methods and educational technologies to enhance the learning experience.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that encourage critical thinking, discussion, and reflection on Islamic teachings.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies, including lectures, group discussions, multimedia presentations, and hands-on activities to cater to different learning styles.
  • Incorporate contemporary issues and real-world applications of Islamic principles to make lessons relatable and meaningful.
  • Design and administer assessments, including quizzes, tests, and projects, to evaluate students’ understanding and progress.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve academically and spiritually.
  • Identify and address the individual needs of students, offering additional support and resources where necessary.
  • Create a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and encourages student participation.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain discipline and order.
  • Foster an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding, emphasizing the importance of Islamic values in everyday life.
  • Work closely with other teachers, administrators, and staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student education and development.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to discuss students’ progress, challenges, and achievements, fostering a strong home-school connection.
  • Participate in department meetings, school-wide events, and professional development workshops.
  • Lead or participate in extracurricular activities, such as Islamic study groups, community service projects, or interfaith dialogues, that complement classroom learning.
  • Organize and participate in school events, such as religious observances, special assemblies, and cultural celebrations.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in Islamic education and pedagogy, including curriculum changes and new teaching methodologies.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
  • Reflect on personal teaching practices and seek feedback to continually improve.
  • Ensure that all teaching practices and materials are culturally and religiously sensitive, adhering to the values and traditions of the UAE.
  • Promote an understanding and appreciation of Islamic culture and heritage within the school community.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies, Education, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or relevant qualifications in Islamic Education.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience teaching Islamic Studies at the high school level.
  • Profound knowledge of Islamic teachings, including the Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, and Seerah.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with and inspire high school students.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is highly advantageous.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to the holistic development of students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural and diverse environment.
