The successful candidate will:

·     Have appropriate IT knowledge and experience with a good knowledge of PCs and tablets, software, networks and associated peripherals

·     Have a good understanding of Windows operating systems and servers as well as Microsoft packages and other operating systems

·     Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and work positively with staff and students

·     Be a self-starter, who is diligent with assigned work, able to work independently and show initiative

·     Have good organizational skills with an eye for detail and the ability to demonstrate good problem solving skills

·     Be able to prioritise a busy workload while remaining calm under pressure

·     Be a good team member with a positive outlook and a sense of humour

·     Be able to carry out manual and physical duties and tasks

·     Have a record of excellent attendance and punctuality

·     Be willing to undergo continual professional training in order to keep the school’s IT department at the forefront of constantly changing technology

·     Be resourceful, positive and enthusiastic about IT and the impact it can have within a school environment

·     Uphold school policies and routines and maintain confidentiality

·     Be aware of, and committed to, health and safety at work

·     Be committed to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and the principles and practice of equal opportunities

·     Be committed to the principles and practice of safeguarding all young people

Whitmore High School is a mixed, non-denominational community comprehensive secondary school and sixth form for pupils aged 11-18. It is located in the London Borough of Harrow, and is operated by the local council.

Whitmore was founded in 1974, and has about 1,600 pupils.
