Junior School Assistant Sports Coach

Fixed term, Full-time

From November 2024 until August 2025

Annual Salary £27,943

Closing Date: 23 September 2024

We wish to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified Assistant Sports Coach to join our dynamic, busy and welcoming Sports department.

Sport is thriving and plays a very important part in the life of King Edward’s. Whilst the role will be based predominantly at the Junior School, it will include coaching across our Senior School.

We are looking to appoint someone who is passionate about working with pupils in an environment which encourages “sports for all”. This ethos ensures that all our pupils are given the opportunity to take part in a broad range of sports and to develop to their maximum potential whilst ensuring high standards are met.

Applicants must be suitably experienced and a qualified full-time Sports Coach to support the further development of our major sports (rugby, cricket, hockey and netball) across the Junior and Senior Schools. A proven ability as a player or coach at a high level (in at least one sport, ideally netball) would be a distinct advantage, and appropriate involvement with Saturday fixtures is expected.   King Edward’s is a very successful school which achieves excellent sporting and academic results and was praised very highly in its last ISI inspection.

This post is temporary to cover a period of maternity leave that runs from November 2024 to August 2025. A willingness to be involved in the pastoral and co-curricular life of this busy and vibrant School is envisaged, including accompanying trips.

The closing date for this vacancy is 8.30am on Monday 23 September 2024 and the completed application form and letter outlining the applicant’s suitability for the post, including your relevant experience needs to be sent to our HR Department via their email address HR@kesbath.com Interviews will be held on Friday 27 September 2024.

Welcome

KING EDWARD’S JUNIOR SCHOOL (Ages 7-11):

In our Junior School, pupils are fully engaged in their learning, enjoying an enriched and diverse curriculum underpinned by an excellent pastoral system supporting the children’s emotional health and personal growth.

The Junior School provides the nurturing warmth of a family-centred school whilst offering our pupils the opportunity to thrive in a wide range of areas. Pupil enjoyment and engagement is at the heart of a highly successful academic provision that focuses on supporting and challenging each child en route to achieving their individual best. Our specialist facilities and highly skilled teaching means that children are presented with exciting opportunities in the creative arts, sport, science and technology as part of their everyday curriculum.

Permeating through everything at the school is an individualised approach that allows our pupils to develop confidence, compassion, curiosity and conviviality. All of this and more means that life at the school allows the children to create special memories whilst developing both as learners and as people.
