Aston Community Education Trust are a forward thinking and ambitious multi-academy trust, comprising of three secondary academies and nine junior academies across the Rotherham, Sheffield and north Derbyshire areas.
We are seeking to appoint two well-qualified and hard-working professionals who are passionate about leading business, computing and IT. Your primary purpose is to model high-quality teaching and lead improvement of teaching skills in these subject areas.
The successful candidate will:
- Have in-depth subject knowledge
- Exhibit exemplary teaching skills
- Have experience of leading the improvement of teaching skills
- Take a leadership role in developing, implementing and evaluating policies and practice
- Coach and mentor teachers, including trainees and early career teachers
- Share knowledge from research about best practice in teaching and learning to support with continuing professional development
- Assess and evaluate impact, including through demonstration lessons and classroom observation
We have two opportunities available:
- Role 1 is based across Aston Academy (2 days p/w) and Shirebrook Academy (3 days p/w)
- Role 2 is based at Swinton Academy

Aston Academy is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Swallownest, Sheffield. It is supported by the multi-academy Aston Community Education Trust, which provides specialist staff and expertise for three secondary schools and nine Junior. Aston is a larger than the average-sized secondary, Aston Academy provides 1,800 places for students aged 11-18, when fully subscribed.
Aston Community Education Trust was formed in May 2011 when Aston Academy, previously known as Aston Comprehensive School, converted to academy status.
