Job overview

We are seeking an experienced and talented teacher with experience working with SEND children to join the senior leadership team to support the school in providing the best possible standards of teaching and learning for SEND children. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational, highly motivated and ambitious teacher to continue the excellent work of our current SEND Coordinator. The successful candidate will continue to improve provision for pupils with SEND and will coach and mentor support staff and teachers. Working closely with external agencies, staff and families, you will ensure that pupils with SEND receive the support required in order to achieve their full potential. You will be the key figure in leading and developing the school’s approach to inclusion including the wellbeing and mental health drive amongst staff, students and the wider school community. The SEND coordinator will lead the SEND and Inclusion team including the pastoral manager and the SEND Co Assistant.

We wish to appoint someone who:

Is keen to expand their knowledge, skills and understanding of learning, education and pedagogy in order to grow and develop as a SEND Co working with SEND children and families

Has experience ensuring that provision for SEND children is high quality to ensure great progress

Has experience coaching and supporting teachers to ensure provision is highly effective

Is able to lead and manage teams

Is excited about teaching and learning and contributes and shows commitment to all elements of school life

Through precision teaching will work with small groups and classes to support learning

Is dedicated and driven towards improving outcomes for every child and is passionate about raising standards for all pupils

Has the belief that all children can achieve and be passionate about removing barriers to learning. Is in receipt of the National SENCO (NASENCO) Qualification or willing to train to receive it
