This is a unique opportunity to join an outstanding school
About the role:
We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and talented teacher and leader to join our passionate team of teachers. Economics is a popular and high-performing subject in our thriving Sixth Form. We are looking for an inspirational teacher to build on the exceptional success of the subject, continuing to bring Economics to life in the classroom and beyond, and motivating our pupils to continue their study of Economics beyond Sixth Form. The successful candidate will benefit from working within the Ark Economics subject network team too.
As Economics is only taught at Key Stage 5, there will therefore be opportunities to teach other subjects at Sixth Form or elsewhere in the school, alongside being involved in the pastoral life of our Sixth Form students. The ideal candidate will be excited about the prospect of contributing to the wider life of the school.
Our ideal candidate will have:
· Experience of raising attainment in a challenging classroom environment and achieving excellent outcomes
· Evidence of continually improving the teaching and learning of their subject though schemes of work and extra-curricular activities etc.

About our school:
King Solomon Academy is a genuine all-through school, with our pupils staying with us from nursery to sixth form across two sites, ten minutes-walk apart. Because of this, we have a unique opportunity to have a long term and dramatic impact on our pupils’ lives. Our mission is to provide a rigorous and transformational education, which starts in ensuring our pupils develop the vital building blocks for future success in communication and language as well as in reading, writing and maths in the primary phase. This means that in the secondary phase, we can focus on rapidly progressing towards achieving academic excellence for each and every pupil. In nine out of ten of the last ten years, KSA has achieved a progress 8 score of +1 or higher, meaning the vast majority of our pupils can go on to the sixth form pathways of their choice post-16. We have a thriving Sixth Form - mainly made up of academic A levels, alongside one BTEC course in Business Studies - which has been ALPS 1 for the last three years. With a huge focus on destinations throughout the whole school, this focus sharpens in Sixth Form. In Autumn 2024, 86% of last year’s Year 13 are going to selective universities or degree level apprenticeships.
Benefits of working for King Solomon Academy:
We believe in aiming high, working together, being kind and leading the way. Through weekly individual coaching, year group intellectual preparation time and whole school PD, we invest in your growth and development as a teacher to ensure you can excel in creating the best possible climate for learning for our pupils to thrive in.
Through our approach to professional development we can promise a successful candidate a positive and rewarding journey of growth. Through shared weekly and long-term planning, a large number of training days and access to the resources and opportunities in the Ark network, we are able to support our teachers to thrive.

Aims, Vision and Values
Our mission is to provide our pupils with a rigorous and transformational education which prepares them for success at university and beyond. We ensure that every pupil achieves academic success and has the real option of going to university. We want to make university education something which is accessible, exciting and aspirational. We believe our pupils work hard towards this goal because we make it real for them. We name our classes after well-known university cities and we name each year group by the year in which they will graduate from sixth form. We run residential trips to universities to open their eyes to the opportunties that university study can deliver.
In order to make our dreams for our pupils a reality, we foster values and approaches that transform the lives of our pupils. At the heart of our approach is that we are an all-through school with a thriving nursery provision. We believe in investing in knowing our pupils and their families extremely well, and we prioritise our pupils making extraordinary progress in the early years of their education. This sense of long-term commitment is core to our approach.
We have high expectations for all of our pupils, and believe that with great teaching and a lot of love and care, every child here can fulfil their potential. This both warm and strict approach means pupils feel safe and secure in the school but also confident to contribute to the future of the school and their community.
