Job Title:      Learning Support Assistant

Location:     Kestrel House School, Crouch End, London

Salary:       £23,500.00 per annum (not pro rata)

Hours:       36 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8.15am start x 5 days, finish time 4.15, 4.15, 4.00, 3.45, 3.30pm consecutively)

Contract:    Permanent, Term Time only

Start date:  November 2024

About The Role

This is a great opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant who wants to develop creative learning opportunities for pupils with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure, working with pupils who require extra support with learning, in a school where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.

When it comes to looking after our pupils, we never settle for second best. We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant, able to support and motivate some of our most troubled and reluctant learners. You will work closely with our Teachers, helping us in our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK, to be happy and to make their way in the world.

You will be forward thinking, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of mentoring, motivated by supporting families and helping every pupil to reach their potential.

Previous experience in a similar role and with SEN students is highly desirable. 

About Us

Kestrel House School is a Special Educational Needs (SEN) School. We help educate and support pupils and young people who have complex needs and specialise in the communication and learning challenges associated with Autism.

We want each young person at Kestrel House School to achieve their own ambitions and to live fulfilling and productive lives. We want you to encourage everyone to achieve their potential and dream big, despite of any challenges you or they may face. This can be achieved by assisting and supporting the class teachers with the agreed learning plans, whilst also being responsible for safeguarding the pupils and young people. This will include making sure they are healthy, safe and as comfortable as possible and assisting with the physical, emotional, educational and personal care needs for each individual.

The site is in London, Haringey Borough within Crouch End area, quite close to central London. The location has the advantage of easy access to public transport, having the over ground station located 5 to 10 min walk away from the school and a 2 bus stops right outside of the school front gates.

For over 16 years, Options Autism has provided care and education to pupils, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.
