Job overview

At Belgrave School, Bristol, we are recruiting for a talented, dynamic and motivated Learning Support Mentor to join our team. This role would suit a HLTA.

As an SEN Independent School we have a mixed cohort of 8-16 year olds with SpLD and associated challenges. We provide high-quality education and pastoral care for our incredible learners. Our purpose is to make an enduring difference to our learner’s lives, providing them with the knowledge, resilience and skills to enable them to have successful, independent lives once they leave us.

The Learning Support Mentor is a very exciting and fulfilling role which involves supporting learners both pastorally and academically, as well as liaising with parents.

The Learning Support Mentor is the pastoral lead for a class of approximately 10 learners in our Senior School. They stay with their class for the entire day, whilst the subject teachers come to the classrooms to teach their specific lessons. The role covers all aspects of pastoral support which is broad, as all learners have a variety of Special Educational Needs. Learners have an EHCP and often need a lot of pastoral support due to negative past educational experiences.

We offer:

  • Competitive Salary
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Private medical package
  • Birthday gift
  • Access to 24 hour wellbeing support
  • Weekly wellbeing activities
  • Bike-to-Work benefits
