The governors of St John Plessington are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic person to be the face of reading at SJP and take a leading role in planning and organising a school resource centre which supports a love of reading.
St John Plessington Catholic College is a Voluntary Aided Catholic 11-18 Academy. We are part of the Holy Family Catholic Multi Academy Trust. We serve the population of the Wirral and are oversubscribed in all year groups.
This role represents an incredibly exciting opportunity for someone to help students develop essential skills when using the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) efficiently as a research and recreational resource. The successful candidate will continue to develop our fantastic LRC as a hub of educational and recreational resources and organise and promote schools’ reading events that engender a love of reading. You will also be required to effectively plan for interventions (leading some 1-1 and small group sessions) to address gaps in students’ reading.
The successful candidate will share in our vision for Catholic Education as part of a successful and experienced music department, which is committed to raising academic standards for all students whilst supporting the spiritual and moral development of the whole person.
