About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lower Primary teacher to join our dynamic team at Victoria International School of Sharjah. In this contract role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality teaching to help our students reach their full potential. This position is located in Tilal, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates

The Teacher is responsible for the implementation of Teaching and Learning through:

  • Providing direction, supervision and care for students
  • Effective delivery of the curriculum;
  • Maintaining professional standards;
  • Effective classroom management;
  • Emphasising the school values.


What we require

  • Minimum Bachelors or Post Graduate studies
  • Minimum Teaching Experience: 3 years of teaching experience in an Australian, Irish, British or New Zealand curriculum school
  • PYP experience is desirable
  • Valid teacher license
  • Dynamic and creative approach to teaching and motivating students
  • Flexibility and resilience required to work in a team at new, fast growing school

Victoria International School of Sharjah is a mainstream, all-through, independent, international school for children ages 3-18. It has 5 campuses situated in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates with a staffing profile of 550

The original flagship school teaches the Victorian version of the Australian curriculum. It opened in 2007 on a purpose-built site on the border of Dubai and Sharjah. we currently have 3 regional campuses located on Kalba, Khorfakkan and Melihea

The school’s primary focus is to meet the learning needs of the students and to help achieve excellent outcomes. As an all-though school the education is divided in to three stages; early learning, primary, and secondary. It is a fully co-educational school  owned by the government of Sharjah and managed as a private school in collaboration with the Victorian Department of Education and Training.

The school’s curriculum is based on three frameworks from Australia as well as the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. In the Early Learning Centre the framework used is called the Victorian Developmental Framework, from Grade 1 to 10 the framework followed is the Victorian Essential Leaning Standards. In the final two years it will be International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

All teachers at the school will be offered accommodation, a monthly tax free salary, annual airfares (for employee, spouse and 2 dependent children) and subsidised schooling (for up to 2 children).
