KPHS is seeking a dynamic and experienced Mathematics Faculty Lead to join our dedicated and professional Maths department. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to both the academic success and holistic development of students at KS3 and KS4, while working with a team that values continuous professional growth and curriculum enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and lead the Maths department to further develop and enhance the Maths curriculum.
  • Play a key role in fostering a love for Maths across the school, contributing to the success and popularity of Maths qualifications at KS4.
  • Lead and deliver a subject-specific Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) programme for the department, supporting staff to develop expertise and confidence in teaching Grade 7-9 content.
  • Engage actively in extracurricular activities, providing students with enriching opportunities to explore literature outside the classroom.
  • Promote the use of diverse teaching strategies, including active learning and formative assessment, to maximise student outcomes at both KS3 and KS4.
  • Monitor, assess, and support the progress and achievement of all students, ensuring differentiation and tailored learning opportunities for individual needs.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to creating an inclusive environment that values cultural diversity and promotes equality for all students.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experienced in teaching Maths at both KS3 and KS4 levels, with a sound knowledge of the AQA curriculum.
  • Confident in delivering Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) programmes and fostering staff development in pedagogy and subject expertise.
  • Passionate about student achievement and able to inspire and engage learners of all abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to promoting equality, safeguarding, and student well-being, ensuring all students feel supported and included.
  • A team player who is willing to collaborate with colleagues to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning are maintained across the department.

We are now a very popular oversubscribed school in central Rochdale with 1350 students in Years 7-11 and 190 staff.
