Merstham Primary, a village community school, has an exciting new opportunity for a Nursery Assistant at level 3 or 2 if good school experience.

Your opportunity

An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen at this small village school to work within our friendly and supportive nursery team with our youngest pupils aged two years and upwards.

We are looking to appoint a committed and caring Nursery Assistant to play a key role in supporting the Nursery Lead. You will play a central role in the children’s development and also their welfare.

About Merstham Primary

Our School sits within a newly established cluster of schools, overseen by a Regional Director. Along with Merstham Primary, our cluster includes the following other schools; Southgate Primary School, Forge Wood Primary School, Kilnwood Vale Primary School, Greenway Junior School, Salfords Primary School, Lime Tree Primary School.

  • Be flexible with regard to the needs of the children and the school.
  • Be able to stay calm and objective when presented with unusual or challenging behaviour.
  • Be enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team.
  • Be a confident and clear communicator with parents.
  • Be able to develop an understanding of the educational, welfare and social needs of the child with whom you are supporting.
  • Have experience of working in a nursery setting.

The Details

Salary: Associate 3 FTE £24,272 -£27,822

Pro Rata: £18,850 - £21,608 

Hours of work: 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8.30 -3.00pm )
