The School is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and inspirational Part-Time Teacher of Modern Studies from October 2024 (or August 2024) to join our highly successful Geography and Modern Studies Department.
The successful applicant will be a committed and enthusiastic teacher with high standards of professionalism and he/she should be willing to make a contribution to the extra-curricular life of the School.
The appointment will begin on Monday 28 October 2024 or Thursday 15 August if possible.
Candidates must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS). The appointment will be subject to a successful application to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.

The High School of Glasgow is a mixed, selective, non-denominational all-through school with sixth form situated in the centre of Glasgow. It is an independent school. Smaller than average in size for a school of its type, Good Schools Guide identifies a school roll of around 1,022 secondary school students between the ages of 3-18.
The school has a long history, dating back to the foundation of its original boys’ school, known as the Choir School of Glasgow Cathedral in 1124. The name changed to The High School of Glasgow in 1834, and was managed by the Glasgow School Board from 1872. The Glasgow High School for Girls was opened in 1894, and following the closure of the boys’ school in 1976, an amalgamation occurred into the school known today.
