We are seeking a dedicated Pastoral and Welfare Officer to join our team at the University Collegiate School, Bolton. As a Pastoral and Welfare Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safeguarding and well-being of our students.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver interventions to support students facing challenges
Provide counselling and mentoring to students in need
Act as Head of Year overseeing the pastoral care of a specific year group
Work closely with staff and parents to address students’ welfare concerns
Contribute to the development and implementation of welfare policies and procedures
To support the leadership and management with the development, implementation and monitoring of the school pastoral care function
To identify, monitor, evaluate and support student progress tracking and target setting
To mentor and supervise students when required, including social times
To liaise regularly with parents/carers
To work with the relevant senior manager to identify students who are vulnerable. As an employee within QUEST, staff may be required to work at any school within the Trust or elsewhere to support.

The UCS is a University Technical College encompassing Key Stage 3 and 4, along with a sixth form provision.
The UCS has an outstanding facility for 11 to 19 year olds which includes specialist laboratories. Our facilities uniquely inspire and motivate our students to succeed in their studies and propel their careers forward.
To accommodate the growing student numbers, a new £17million extension is underway and is scheduled to open in September 2025, along with our Multi Use Games Area which opened in September 2024, providing an incredible space for our students and the local community to engage in a wide range of sports and activities.
