PE & Swimming Specialist Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic PE & Swimming Specialist Teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality physical education and swimming lessons to students across various age groups, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, and fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and Deliver Lessons: Develop and implement age-appropriate PE and swimming lesson plans that align with the school’s curriculum and standards. Ensure lessons are engaging, inclusive, and promote physical fitness, swimming proficiency, and overall well-being.
• Swimming Instruction: Provide expert swimming instruction, including stroke development, water safety, and techniques for competitive swimming. Assess students' swimming abilities and tailor lessons to meet individual needs.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment. Manage classroom behavior effectively and ensure students adhere to safety guidelines, especially during swimming activities.
• Assessment and Evaluation: Monitor and assess students’ progress in both physical education and swimming. Provide regular feedback to students and parents, and maintain accurate records of students’ performance.
• Extracurricular Activities: Organize and oversee extracurricular sports and swimming activities, including inter-school competitions and swimming meets.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all activities, especially swimming sessions, comply with health and safety regulations. Maintain equipment and facilities to the highest standards of safety and hygiene.
• Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest trends, techniques, and best practices in physical education and swimming. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field. A recognized teaching qualification is preferred.
• Swimming Certification: A valid swimming coaching certification from a recognized body (e.g., ASA, Swim England, Red Cross) is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching PE and swimming in a school setting. Experience in coaching competitive swimming teams is an advantage.
