PE Technician - Kings’ School Al Barsha

Kings’ School Al Barsha is seeking a PE Technician teacher to join our Outstanding school from August 2024. 

Job purpose: 

To support the PE Department in delivering outstanding Physical & Health Education lessons through the preparation of equipment, classrooms and facilities and supporting the delivery of programs and supervision of students. 

Roles and responsibilities: 

Lesson planning, teaching and learning

• To support teachers in developing and maintaining teaching resources 
• To set up off site PE lessons ahead of groups arriving to ensure a smooth transition and maximisation of learning time 
• Assisting with the differentiation and personalised learning of designated students.

Facility management

• To manage the cleanliness of school facilities and a facility schedule in collaboration with the Head of department
• To support external providers with the setup of extra curricular activities
• To assist in the set up of sports fixtures and PHE events hosted within school facilities 

Equipment management

• To keep a regular stock take of all equipment and resources
• To manage the cleanliness of the department store room and all storage of equipment
• To rotate equipment on a seasonal basis between short and long term storages, to ensure teachers have the correct resources for seasonal sports 

Supervision of students

• To assist teachers in the supervision of students during lessons and swimming lessons, including offsite PE lessons
• Assist the Head of PE with the implementation of safety policies and procedures, including off site first aid provision 

Coaching

• To assist teachers in the delivery of the team sports program, including some potential coaching of sports teams
• To assist the delivery of swimming lessons 

Other duties and responsibilities

• Undertake duties as assigned as part of the staff duty rota
• Undertake relevant training and professional development as part of the role
• Cover for absent colleagues 
• Support school events and activities
• Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Head of Department, Phase or Head of School Ideal qualifications, experience and person spec.

• Bachelor's degree in similar field
• First aid qualification
• Teaching swimming qualification/life saving qualification
• Experience in a similar role in a fast paced international school
