Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Grade Teacher to join our team. As a homeroom teacher, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing the holistic development of young learners. Your responsibilities will include designing and delivering engaging lesson experiences tailored to support language and communication development, social and emotional development, cognitive development, and physical development. Beyond these areas, you will also serve as a mentor, role model, and advocate for the well-being and growth of each child in your care.


Responsibilities:


1. Homeroom Leadership:

  • Establish and maintain a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a collaborative and supportive community.

2. Curriculum Development:

  • Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities that cater to the unique needs and interests of young learners.
  • Integrate principles of early childhood education into curriculum planning, with a focus on language and communication development, social and emotional development, cognitive development, and physical development.

3. Instructional Delivery:

  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that stimulate curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.


4. Assessment and Progress Monitoring:

  • Conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate student progress and development across the four key areas of early childhood education.
  • Use assessment data to inform instructional decisions and individualize learning experiences to meet the needs of each child.
  • Provide appropriate assessment and regular constructive feedback

5. Parent Communication:

  • Maintain open and transparent communication with parents regarding their child's academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with parents to establish and achieve goals for their child's growth and development.

6. Professional Development:

  • Stay abreast of current research and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness and pedagogical skills.

7. Deadline Management:

  • Meet deadlines for submitting grades, reports, and other administrative tasks in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assignments, and assessments.

8. Classroom Management:

  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to create a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Establish clear expectations for behavior and academic performance, and consistently reinforce these expectations with students.
  • Create and effectively manage a comprehensive student portfolio 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification/license for early childhood education.
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience in an international school setting, with knowledge of the Cambridge curriculum.
  • Proven track record of effectively implementing the Cambridge curriculum and adapting instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Strong understanding of child development theories and practices.
  • Proficiency in utilizing information technology tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Dedication to promoting a positive and nurturing learning environment for all students.
