Position Overview:
We seek a dedicated, passionate and inspiring Primary School Teacher to join our team. As a Prep School teacher, you will teach a diverse range of subjects to our Prep 1 to 7 pupils, including English, Maths, Inquiry, and Computing in a stimulating and supportive learning environment.
Mission:
To empower students to pursue excellence in its many forms and acquire the skills necessary to become critical thinking, self-actualised problems solvers and compassionate global citizens.
Qualifications:
1. University degree (BA/B.Sc) or equivalent;
2. Teacher Qualifications (B.Ed/M.Ed/PGCE/QTS) or equivalent;
3. At least two years of relevant teaching experience;
4. English speaker.

6. Initiate, innovate, and inspire pupils and colleagues while planning collaboratively with others to teach the BMH English Curriculum to your classes.
7. Undertake Co-Curricular Activities to enrich pupil learning and participate in events to build community, celebrate success and showcase learning to parents.
8. Provide in loco parentis homeroom provision as an English-speaking homeroom teacher together with a Chinese bilingual homeroom teacher.
9. Teach primarily English and some periods of Maths, Inquiry or Computing (specific arrangements will depend on the year group you are assigned to).
10. Receive several PPA (planning, preparation and assessment) periods across the week during the school day.
11. Work alongside a Chinese bilingual banzhuren to lead the morning registration, ERIC (Everyone Reading in Class) or Phonics session and the end-of-day Pack and Snack session.
12. Evaluating each student to identify their language needs.
13. Addressing every aspect of students' communication needs to develop their ability to speak, write, read and listen in English.

Our campus is situated on property owned by Mission Hills and is immediately adjacent to the Mission Hills resort in Shenzhen, China. It is easily accessible by subway, and only 45 minutes from Shenzhen City Centre. Hong Kong Island is just 2 hours away from our door.

Bromsgrove School Mission Hills is planned as a co-educational, bilingual (English and Mandarin) through-train day school for students in Pre-kindergarten to University entrance. Our partnership with Bromsgrove School, UK, brings the depth and breadth of expertise and knowledge a historically successful school affords, elevated with the passion and pioneering spirit of a newly established school. Our goal is to serve a growing number of Chinese nationals and expatriates in the Shenzhen region who have an interest in having their children attend a pre-eminent dual language internationally accredited school.
Our pupils follow a blended bilingual programme with English first language teachers and Chinese bi-lingual teachers in every class in the Pre-K, Pre School, Prep and Senior Schools here in Mission Hills before moving on to either Bromsgrove School UK via our Priority Placement scheme or other reputable Junior and Senior High Schools of choice for grades 8-12.
Following the successful model of excellence of our partner school, Bromsgrove School UK, pupils are taught by subject specialists following our blended curriculum. Chinese and Morality are taught using Chinese language. Art and Design, Humanities, Mathematics, Music, PE and Science are sometimes taught in Chinese and sometimes in English. Computer Science, Drama and English are taught in English. As pupils progress to IGCSE, they increasingly study in English in order to ensure they are well prepared for IGCSE examinations where the language used is English. Nevertheless, we continue to develop our pupils’ Chinese language and literature skills.
