We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and dynamic Primary Teacher with English Leader responsibilities to join our team. This dual role involves teaching within the primary section while leading the development of English across relevant year groups. The ideal candidate will inspire students to achieve excellence in literacy while also supporting colleagues to elevate English teaching standards across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary Teaching Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the British curriculum.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that meets the needs of all students.
- Foster innovative thinking, creativity, and problem-solving among students.
- Monitor, assess, and report on students' progress regularly.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively and promote positive learning habits.
- Collaborate with parents, staff, and leadership to support students' academic and personal development.
English Leadership Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an effective English curriculum aligned with the school's goals and the British curriculum framework.
- Monitor and evaluate the teaching of English across relevant primary year groups.
- Support and mentor teachers to improve their English instruction through coaching, lesson observations, and feedback.
- Identify and promote best practices in literacy development, including phonics, reading comprehension, and writing.
- Lead professional development sessions and workshops related to English teaching.
- Analyze and track student performance data in English and recommend strategies for improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.) or a relevant subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience: At least 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a British curriculum school.
- Proven track record of success in leading English or literacy initiatives.
- Strong understanding of early literacy, phonics, and language development strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.
Skills:
- Curriculum Knowledge: Strong understanding of the British curriculum, especially for primary education.
- Lesson Planning & Delivery: Ability to design engaging and effective lessons that cater to different learning styles.
- Classroom Management: Skilled in managing student behavior to create a positive learning environment.
- Assessment & Feedback: Experience in evaluating student progress using various assessment tools and providing constructive feedback.
- Differentiation: Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including EAL (English as an Additional Language) learners.
- Curriculum Development: Expertise in developing and enhancing English language programs across year groups.
- Data-Driven Instruction: Ability to analyze student performance data and develop strategies for literacy improvement.
- Mentoring & Coaching: Experience in supporting and guiding other teachers to improve their instructional practices.
- Professional Development: Ability to lead workshops, training sessions, and collaborative planning meetings.
- Innovation in Literacy: Familiarity with the latest trends in literacy, including phonics, reading comprehension, and creative writing.
- Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and parents.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and foster collaboration among staff.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in building positive relationships with parents and the wider school community.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively, including teaching and leadership tasks
- Decision-Making: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in curriculum and teaching matters.
