Qatar Academy Doha is seeking a PYP Learning Support Coordinator to join our collaborative and vibrant teaching team for the 2025-26 school year.
We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic PYP Learning Support Coordinator to join our collaborative and vibrant teaching team starting in August 2025.
Primary Responsibilities
The Student Support Department Coordinator is responsible for providing strategic direction, leadership, and management of Learning Support services.
This role ensures that students with additional needs receive tailored support and that staff are effectively guided to deliver high-quality inclusive education.
The Coordinator collaborates with school leadership, teachers, support staff, parents, counselors, The Learning Centre (TLC), and learning support teachers to foster a supportive learning environment and ensure alignment with the school’s promotion and admission criteria.
Secondary Responsibilities
● help with the everyday operations of the school
● plan and execute school events when needed, including maintaining budget and acquisitions as necessary (secondary)
● participate in recruitment, interviews, and selection of new staff as needed (secondary)
• Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons according to PUE and regulatory safeguarding requirements including but not limited to the provisions of the PUE Child Protection Policy
He / She would also be a part of the largest school in the QF family with over 1713 students, Qatar Academy Doha (QAD) is organized into Primary and Senior School divisions.

Qualifications & Experience:
● Educational Background:
○ A Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
○ A Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification in Inclusion, Learning Support, or Educational Leadership is highly desirable.
● Experience:
○ Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in coordinating or leading a Learning Support or Student Support Department is preferred.
○ Demonstrates ability to implement and manage Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs).
● Certifications:
○ Relevant certifications in Learning Support, Inclusive Education, or Special Educational Needs (SEN).
○ Evidence of continuous professional development in areas such as behavior management, literacy interventions, and assessment frameworks (MAP, CEFR).
● Skills:
○ Strong understanding of inclusive education practices within the PYP framework.
○ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with leadership, teachers, parents, counselors, and The Learning Centre (TLC).
○ Proven skills in data analysis and using data to inform intervention strategies and measure student progress.
○ Organizational and time-management skills for overseeing resources, performance, and strategic initiatives aligned with the school’s stated policies and practices.
● Evidence of Impact:
○ Documented success in enhancing staff capabilities and optimizing systems to effectively address student needs and support their progress.
NOTES:
-Teaching Certification / Bachelor’s Degree (must be a face-to-face qualification - online qualifications are not recognised by Qatar).
-Teaching couples must be married as per Qatari work visa requirements.
-Clear criminal record and background check.
-Clear medical history for HIV, Hepatitis B and C, and Tuberculosis.

Qatar Academy is the name given to a group of independent schools located across Qatar. Owned and run by the Qatar Foundation, the schools are part of the International Baccalaureate World Schools Programme, and as such offer a wide range of qualifications for students to study for. Teaching information
Teachers at Qatar Academy are expected to hold an appropriate undergraduate degree, and a proper teaching certification such as a postgraduate diploma, as well as at least two years of teaching experience in a relevant field. Teachers at the schools receive full medical care and housing, as well as proper support in order to aid international travel.
