Imagine Montessori School is seeking to appoint an inspirational and passionate Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO)/ School Psychologist.The successful candidate will join our dynamic school,where our committed team deliver an outstanding learning experience which goes well beyond the classroom.

This role will encompass from 2-18 years old and will help to support learning within the classroom by creating and providing a consistent approach to the safeguarding, inclusion, emotional and welfare needs of the students in our care.  The Psychologist/SENCO consistently works towards outstanding performance across all professional standards, ensuring safeguarding, successful outcomes and the efficient and effective administrative operations.


Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with staff, families and outside bodies and Multi-Disciplinary meetings, providing vital psychological advice in line with SEND guidance.
  • Conduct one-on-one assessments and deliver comprehensive reports with actionable recommendations for support and referrals.
  • Support parents, teachers, and professionals involved in children's education, fostering a cohesive educational community.
  • Design interventions promoting psychological well-being, social, emotional, and behavioural development among our students.

Professional Development and Growth

  • Provide in-service training for staff on crucial issues such as staff well-being and behavioural understanding.
  • Stay updated with legislative changes, ensuring the Senior Leadership Team is informed, and advise on educational policies and provisions.


Collaborative Approach

  • Work closely with social care, health colleagues, and wider children's services to ensure efficient communication and joint planning.
  • Consult with multi-agency teams to determine the best approaches for supporting children's learning and development.

The candidate profile 

  • FLUENT or NATIVE spanish speaker plus ENGLISH (INTERVIEWS WILL BE CONDUCTED IN BOTH LANGUAGES)
  • SENCO and / or Educational Psychologist Qualification.
  • Successful relevant experience.
  • Enjoy working with children from 2-18 years old
  • Flexible, positive and “can-do” attitude to work. 
  • Full understanding of safeguarding, prevent and SENCO practices within the Spanish system. 
  • Knowledge of the British education system.
  • To communicate clearly and resolve any issues quickly and professionally. 
  • To prioritise tasks and to manage their workload with a minimum of supervision.
  • Experience and qualified in safeguarding or willing to be trained and developed 


Salary is calculated under the Spanish Convenio for Private Schools

Imagine Montessori School, is a private secular college, which educates children from the ages of 20 months to 18 years of age. It employs the principles of the Montessori pedagogy in its methodology and philosophy within the British curriculum, and is accepted by the Spanish Ministry of Education.
